2006 USA Dillman Camp

What can I say about the DKI camp in Pennsylvania, other than "What a great weeks training".  It was good to get back to the camp again, as it had been 2 years since I was there last.  This time the UK group, me included, were there in May which was nice and warm (as opposed to October last time which can be pretty cold).  There were 13 of us from the UK and approximately 40 others from across the USA.  We had a great couple of sessions with Ken Smith doing Modern Arnis, several sessions with Grand Master Will Higginbottom and also Grand Master Matt Brown.
Grand Master Bowman had a fantastic session showing some great techniques.  I was on the receiving end of a great KO using a double finger lock and a kick to GB25 (look for the write up I have done on the camp for Martial Arts Illustrated magazine - "Diary of a Dillman Camp" - October edition, due out in September).  The highlight of the camp for me was getting the chance to show a couple of techniques in front of everyone at the camp, including Grand Master Dillman.  This was a great honour which I will not forget for a long time.  We also had the pleasure of GM George Dillman's company for a couple of days after the camp, where we visited his house and he showed us his medical study which he has been doing for the last 30 years (this is the detail of the pressure point theory and according to George Dillman we are the only group in the UK to have seen it !!). The camp was topped off with a look at the original notes supplied to George Dillman by Hohan Soken in the 70's.  Hohan Soken, a 10th Degree Master, gave George Dillman a set of notes which has led to the release of the hidden secrets of pressure point fighting (again look out for the 2nd write up I have done for Martial Arts Illustrated - "Dillman reveals secret notes from Hohan Soken" - November edition, due out in October).
A great training week, at one of the best training venues in the world, the original Muhammed Ali training camp, Deerlake Pennsylvania.
