Where do you train and at what time? We are currently based at the Camm St. gym in Crewe, Cheshire and train on a Thursday evening between 7:30 and 9:30.
Do I have to be physically fit to train? Although physical fitness is an advantage it is not a prerequisite, as we are able to tailor our classes around an individuals own personal abilities.
Do I need to buy a lot of expensive equipment? No, all you need to start out is loose sturdy clothing. If after 4 weeks you decide it is for you then all you need to buy is a suitable gi (the 'white pyjamas' you see martial artists wear).
Do I have to join your organisation? As with buying equipment you get 4 weeks to make up your mind then yes you will be required to join in order to be covered by our insurance (one off visits by individuals will not require membership).
Are there any age restrictions for training? Due to the mental discipline required to learn any Martial Art we do not usually take on students below 13 years of age, although we do run a junior class for age 7-16 (follow link to junior web site from our home page). As for an upper age limit, if you feel you are capable to train, give it a go.
What about accidents and injuries? To date the club has never had a serious injury on its hands, but should one occur you can rest assured that we have full insurance cover and several fully trained first aid officers present at all times.
I already train at another club, am I still welcome? Certainly, we have a strict 'no politics' attitude towards students and instructors from other clubs as we have nothing to hide and through contact with other styles there is still a lot we could learn.
I work shifts, is it OK if I cannot come every week? Although you would learn quicker if you could make every session we realise that in some cases this is not possible, so yes it is OK, just come when you can.
Can I bring my own club to train at your dojo? Definitely, we always welcome the chance to train with new groups of people although we would appreciate at least a weeks notice as space on the mat is limited for a large visiting group. We would also need to see proof of your insurance (Uninsured clubs would need to become members of our organisation and therefore be covered by our policy in order to train).
